The Workshop will be held in the Teaching Centre of the School of Mathematics and Physics, shown above with our host, Prof Francis Keenan. The breaks and lunch are in the ground-floor reception area. Lectures will be in the first-floor computer suite.

This talk uses clips from films and TV shows such as Star Wars and Star Trek to show how scriptwriters sometimes get the science right, but most often wrong! The talk will focus on space battles and weapons in SF. Props - specifically a lightsabre, phaser pistol and M41A pulse rifle - will be available if attendees wish to take photos!
